First Day on the Job!

Above: Paul gets ready to leave for his first day on thew new job
with his sexy new shirt and a trendy leather bag "Santa" bought.

A HUGE congrats to Paul for landing a really sweet job. I am not going to post on here where he is working (too many crazy people on the net and a loon from Weehawken) but those of you that know Paul and are close to us know where he is working. The job is a big step up and he's in a really trendy building. Hope your first day was great!! Here's to a great future!:-)

WAAAAAAAAA!

I don't think it gets more pathetic than this. Yup, Romo is partially to blame but Romo really isn't all that and when you mix Jessica Simpson into ANYTHING - it will be a disaster. My bet is a Green Bay/Patriots Super bowl. I love both teams...may the best man (Farve/Brady) win.

The year of Joan

Most everyone that knows me knows that I am a Joan Crawford fanatic. Well, now the world can see it in black and white! I was recently featured in the 2008 spring issue of Out Traveler magazine on my Joan Crawford collection and my popular Joan Crawford Website! It's kind of funny how many people that I know have seen the article without even telling them about it. I never though a little article would generate so many emails but I have already received so many emails and compliments it's a bit overwhelming.

Above: Me at Grauman's Chinese Theater in late 2007 placing my hands in Joan's handprints.

Next month I will also be featured on several Joan Crawford DVD releases. I will be speaking on in mini documentaries about Joan in the special features section of the DVDs, so I can only image the buzz the site will receive from that as well.

My book is still chugging along - it's a lot of work, headaches and waiting and I am being patient. I am glad it has taken this long because it has helped me acquire more content to make the book even better. If all goes well the book will be released at the end of this year!

Happy Birthday!

I AM Voting!

I have never voted in my life. I have never been motivated to vote for anyone – everyone that has been President of the Untied States, as long as I have been old enough to vote, has not appealed to me at all. Since I have been old enough to vote only Clinton and George W Bush have been in office. And when Bill Clinton was running for President I was only 18, so that really doesn’t count. And no way in hell would I vote for George W. Bush – many did and I am sure they have regretted it. So this is the first election where I am old enough to understand what the candidates are saying and old enough to WANT to vote.

That being said, I think this election coming up is probably going to be the most exciting election in a long time and probably my lifetime. I am registered to vote in California and I am really looking forward to this year’s election.

Above: Can Hillary pull it off?

I have to say I am torn between the two front-runners for the Democratic Party – Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. I would be happy with either one of them being in the White House but I do have some concerns that I have not heard any mention of. I don’t think the press is brave enough to raise a few flags about Obama. I have been reading about Obama and his stance and I have listened to him speak. He’s a very moving speaker and I really am engaged when he speaks. He’s very young and has a young family and speaks of change and is quite charming. He is the modern day JFK. JFK and Obama have so many similaritiesit’s that are quite uncanny. I really feel that if Obama becomes the first black president of the United States that he will be a walking target. A crazy person killed JFK, certain people hated JFK because he was so loved and admired and was changing the world for the better. Obama would be in the same boat as Kennedy. So many people are still living back in the 1800s in his country and I guarantee there would be a group of white men trying to knock off Obama if he became President; it’s almost too predictable. In many areas of this country people still think blacks should be slaves. It’s quite sad but it’s a reality. That’s my biggest concern for Obama and this country; we would be setting up another great tragedy like Kennedy and Martin Luther King. I would love to see an African American male become President, I am all for it. I also love that he is a young President with a young family.

Above: Our future President?

On the other hand, I really like Hillary Clinton. To have a woman in charge in the White House would be awesome. I have always liked Hillary and what she stood for. She’s one of the most powerful women in this country. I saw an interview with her before the New Hampshire primaries, she had just lost Iowa and for the first time I saw her be herself and open up to the public and it was refreshing. She was not robotic and she poured her heart out and it worked. If Hillary can just be herself she will win the election. It pissed me off hat after she lost Iowa the press totally ruled her out and placed Obama and Edwards as the two candidates to watch and pretty much told Hillary to quit now. Not so fast. She’s in this race and I do believe it’s hers to win.

Above: Give it up Mitt!

As far as McCain goes – he’s too old. Most men don’t live past 80 years old and his clock is almost up. Romney is a joke and I have a bit of fun information about one of his Mormon sons but Paul would not let me post it. Paul knew his son Matt and I think if I posted what I have PerezHilton and CNN would be eating it up! Huckabee is a joke and a few fellow co-workers and myself have already agreed that if he becomes President we are fleeing the country. Giuliani should save his money and focus on who his next wife is going to be.

Above: Matt Romney - he does have a"gay face" doesn't he?

Anyway, it will be an exciting year to watch all this politics and be a small part of it. This election is really the election of my lifetime and I am hoping it will make a difference for the younger generation.

Bon Voyage Binky

Above: One last taste before letting go.

The time is here. We have been prepping Zebra (Zach) for his 4th birthday. We have been telling him on his fourth birthday that we have to send his binky's away. I told him a few months ago that we are going to tie his binky's onto a bunch of balloons and let them go. I know he was dreading it but it had to be done. Yesterday the deed was done. Poor Zeebs - imagine having something your WHOLE life and having to let it go and say goodbye to it. Kinda sad....but we all have to go through the feeling of loss at some point I guess.

Above: There it goes!!!

Above: Watching the binky float away...

....up, up and away.....

...one last look.

Above: I almost didn't post this picture because it really is so sad.
He truly was sad but the picture captures the moment so well.

Top Songs of 2007!

Above: Rihanna was one of the biggest musical stars of 2007.

Paul and I track the music charts weekly and tally up our top 20 songs of each week as well as the top 10 albums. We have to follow certain rules when charting a song - for example - the top ten songs on the Billboard chart HAVE to be in our top 20 songs each week so even if we don't like the song or an album we have to chart it if it's in the top 10. Yes we are dorks, but we have been both doing this since we were teenagers. Funny that we were both doing these charts as youngsters and we didn't know each other then - strange. So below is a list of the top 100 songs of 2007 (albums to follow)! I will feature the top ten songs in depth and then post the full list for your viewing pleasure.

TOP 10 Songs of 2007!

#10 - Soulja Boy - Soulja Boy

This highly obnoxious, but catchy, song spent an amazing seven weeks at number one on the Billboard charts. The song started a dance craze this past fall and had people doing this crazy Soulja Boy dance. Ad a catchy hook and a silly dance (remember the Macarena) and you have a sure fire hit. Soulja Boy is still in the top 10 currently on the Billboard charts and it's nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Rap Song of the year.

#9 - Stronger Kayne West

Kanye West's first single of his highly successful album Graduation started a war with rival rapper 50 Cent. The war was who could sell more records and there was no contest. Kanye blew away the competition with his number one album that sold over 2 million copies and his number one robotic hit "Stronger." Kanye had his ups and downs in 2007 with getting eight Grammy nominations, the most for this years Grammy nods, but he also sadly lost his mother to a plastic surgery accident a few months ago.

#8 - No One - Alicia Keys

As I predicted earlier this year, the talented and beautiful Alicia Keys would score big with her third album "As I Am" and she did/ The first single "No One" became one of the biggest hits of the year spending five weeks at number one on the Hot 100 and the single is still going strong currently at number 2 on the chart. Look for Alicia's second single "Like You'll Never See Me Again" to be in next years chart!

#7 - Makes Me Wonder - Maroon 5

We waiting three years for Maroon 5 to release "Makes Me Wonder" and it was well worth the wait. Maroon 5 blasted on the scene in 2003 with their first single "Harder to Breathe" with the singer of the band Adam Levine being the eye candy. "Makes Me Wonder" is Maroon 5 at their best. The song went all the way to number one on the charts and earned the act three Grammy nods!

#6 - Big Girls Don't Cry - Fergie

I have to admit when Fergie launched her solo career I was less then thrilled. Fergie and I go way back - I was a fan of her all girl 90s group "Wild Orchid" and I was rooting for the group to take form but they never did. Then Fergie went through her meth addiction and I gave up on her. I was shocked to see her transform herself with the funk R7B group "Black Eyed Peas" and really liked the music that the group was releasing. Her first solo song was the number one hit "London Bridge" in 2006 and I hated it. The next few hits did well but they were all the same with Fergie spelling everything she sang. THEN she released "Big Girls Don't Cry" and validated her solo singer status. The song is pure pop bliss and is the number six song of the year. Fergie had an amazing year with four number one hits and two more singles that went top 5 as well.

#5 - Hey There Delilah - Plain White T's

Every year there's a song that charts from an unknown person or band and you never hear from them again - called 'one hit wonders.' Last year remember Daniel Powder and "Bad Day?" This year we have a group called The Plain White T's and they are on the one hit wonder path with their monster number on hit "Hey There Delilah." The song is a cookie cutter pattern from a 1990s hit and it broke through to many people with its heartbreaking lyrics. The group is nominated for two Grammy awards including Song of he Year!

#4 - The Way I Are - Timbaland f/ Keri Hilson

Timbaland was EVERYWHERE this year working with Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado and One Republic. Timbaland produced hits for all of those acts and then decided to get in on the action himself releasing the catchy hit "The Way I Are." The single went all the way to number one and insured Timbaland his Grammy nod for Producer of the Year. Timbaland is currently working with Madonna on her new album, which will be out in April of 2008!

#3 - Irreplaceable - Beyonce

The top three songs on this chart are all by solo female artists. Beyonce has earned her right as one of the biggest female singers ever. She joins the ranks of one-name divas like Madonna, Whitney, Janet and Mariah and she is on the path to break many of those divas records. Her biggest hit to date is "Irreplaceable." The single spent eight weeks at number one and crossed over to many charts including a Spanish and country version of the song. "Irreplaceable" comes in as number three song of the year.

#2 - Say It Right- Nelly Furtado

Nelly Furtado blasted on the scene in 2000 with her huge hit "I'm Like a Bird." But then it looked grim for the singer when her next several hits failed to catch on in 2003. Nelly revamped her image and sound an released a string of hits in 2006 and 2007 but it was her slow, sexy jam "Say it Right" that turned out to be her golden ticket. "Say it Right" spent over three months on the chart before it hit number one on the Billboard charts. After this comeback one can only imagine what the Canadian beauty has up her sleeve next.

#1 - Umbrella - Rihanna f/ Jay-Z

The number one single of the year goes to the sexy nineteen-year-old girl from Barbados - Rihanna. Rihanna burst on to the scene in 2005 with her fun dance hit "Pon De Replay" she had one hit wonder written all over her. Then she released a few other hits including SOS and Unfaithful but they were mediocre hits and she was put into a category of teeny popper wannabees. The Rihanna revamped her look and music and teamed up with some amazing producers and the result was unreal. The first single off her third album "umbrella" was played everywhere this year. The lyrics were pure gold and the hook was so annoying you could not get it out of your head - "You can stand under my Umbrella ella ella eh eh eh." The result was a number one smash for seven weeks on the chart and a new diva emerged that is giving Beyonce run for her money. Rihanna also had four other songs on the year-end chart and is going strong in 2008 with her latest single "Don't Stop the Music." Go Rihanna!

Wacky Weather

Above: A map of the storm we are experiencing right now. NASTY!

San Francisco usually has the most amazing weather but we are being pummeled with a nasty storm it's pretty much a tropical storm with winds over 70MPH! There was no power at work today which is nice to have the day off but I have not seen a storm like this in a long time! Paul and I were driving around in it this morning and we saw so many people blowing around the streets trying to stay under their umbrellas (ella ella eh eh sorry I couldn't help myself) and the umbrellas were just blowing around the streets. We are supposed to get heavy rains all week I will be taking pictures with my new camera of the mass destruction and floods!! I feel a little like Anderson Cooper except I am a hell of a lot more brave hen he is, he can't even come out of the closet!

Ella ella eh eh eh eh.

New Year - New Car!

Happy New Year to Everyone!

Out with the old and in with the new! Yesterday, Paul, Zach and I went car shopping and we were surprised that we actually left with a brand new car. We now have a brand new 2008 Volkswagon Jetta!!!! It's very sexy!:-)

Above: Our sexy new car!

Our old car was very nice, it was a 2004 Volkswagon Tourag - a huge car not suitable for California plus it gets 12 miles per gallon of gas which is not very good and quite expensive. Now, out new car gets 24 miles per gallon for gas which is a huge savings. Check out our new wheels!!!

Above: Zach was calling around to see where we could get the best deal for a car.

Above: Zach takes the Tourag out for one last spin.

Above: Our "old" car.
