Happy Halloween!

Above: RAAAAAAHHHHH!!

Halloween is SO much fun when you have a child! This is Zach's first year of Halloween where he really "gets it." He was great and enjoyed trying to get as much candy as he could and he loved looking at the hundreds of different costumes. We all headed to the Marina where they shut down an entire street. The street was decorated with great Halloween garb and littered with hundreds of children dressed as superheros, pirate, princesses, withes and other creative costumes. Zachary was all set to go as Superman but at the last minute had a costume change and went as Batman! Check out the fun-filled photos below.

Earthquake!

I experienced my first earthquake since living in California. It was a good sized earthquake it was measured at 5.6. It centered a little north of San Jose. I never had felt one before and it was strange...the whole house was swaying back and forth and everything was rattling. It was pretty scary..it lasted a good 12 seconds!! Below is a link to a great California earthquake link that gives you minute by minute data on the most recent earthquakes.

All Hallows Eve

That's right..it's the night before Halloween! What will Zach be for Halloween? Batman? Spiderman? Superman? A Witch? A Rat? An Astronaut? Darth Vader? Zach has expressed over the past few weeks wanting to go as all of these things...but only one will win. Stay tuned to find out!

He was a bit shy at first but then he started throwing punches!

Also, Zach started Karate this week. It was pretty intense. The sensei was strict and I was tempted to even join a class myself. Zach didn't want to really do it at first but started to let loose in the end. It will be a great way for Zach to get out his aggressions. Below are a few unrelated pictures that we enjoy!

RED SOX WIN THE WORLD SERIES!

Above: Zach and me rooting for the Sox!

Just another reason to assure the Red Sox Nation that the curse has been banished forever. The curse now lives with the New York Yankees! So long A-Rod! Congrats to the Boston Red Sox...the best team in baseball!!! Two world series wins in four years! If I had to pick an MVP it would either be Dustin Pedroia or Jacoby Ellsbury. Can you imagine what both of these rookies are feeling? Both of them winning world rings and under the age of 25! Amazing! Mike Lowell is the MVP which is must deserved. Nobody wanted this guy two years ago and he totally reshaped himself and here he is...MVP! And what an amazing story of John Lester who was diagnosed with blood cancer last year comes back to get the win for the team. Amazing stories, amazing men, an amazing team!

Now Valley Street Fair

Above: Mirror, mirror on the wall...

Last week our neighborhood, Noe Valley, had a really cool street fair. It was right on our street and it was such a fun thing for kids of all ages. It had many vendors selling handmade items, face painting, music and dance. Zach loved it. Check out the pictures below of our adventure at the street fair.

Just fine!

Above: The three faces of Mary. A shot from her new video "Just Fine."

One of my all-time favorite singers, Mary J. Blige, is coming out with a new album on November 27th. I have been listening to Mary since she came out in 1992. Every one of her albums has mirrored where I am in life at that particular moment, it's actually kind of freaky. She had really sad and depressing albums early in her career, then she moved into ‘move out of my way,” ‘no more drama’ mode, then she graduated to a celebration of love in her life and now everything is "just fine" for Mary and me:-) Mary's new single is called, "Just Fine" and it's perfect. The video and single are available on iTunes. Mary you are a true inspiration and your life and career have helped me in so many ways...

Just Fine

Let it go…
Can’t let this thing called love get away from you
Feel free right now, going do what you want to do
Can’t let nobody take it away, from you, from me, from we
No time for moping around, are you kidding?
And no time for negative vibes, cause I’m winning
It’s been a long week, I put in my hardest
Gonna live my life, feels so good to get it right

So I like what I see when I’m looking at me
When I’m walking past the mirror

No stress through the night, at a time in my life
Ain’t worried about if you feel it
Got my head on straight, I got my mind just right
I aint gonna let you kill it
You see I wouldn’t change my life, my life’s just...

Fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, ooooh
Just fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, fine, ooooh
You see I wouldn’t change my life, my life’s just fine!

Television Junkie

The television show I am most looking forward to is the new season of Project Runway! I love this show, it's fun, smart and so creative. The above and below pictures show the upcoming cast of the show. All the guys look pretty gay, maybe it should be called "Project Bumway!" It all starts November 14th!!! Click the images above and below to see the new cast!

The other television shows I currently watch and what I am looking forward to seeing this season are:

Above: The Biggest Loser is the biggest winner on television.

The Biggest Loser- This show is so inspiring and it's actually helping people lose weight and stay healthy. Great show, it makes you want to work out right after you watch it.

Above: Matthew Fox is one of the highlights on the show "Lost."

Lost- I never gave up on this show, I have watched every season. The second season was slow BUT the last season was the best. The ending was amazing. I am so looking for the new shows to start early net year.

Above: Family Guy

Family Guy - The funniest show on television, I love how this show has no shame. Very funny!

Above: The person people always tell me I resemble is Ryan Seacrest.
I am not sure that's a good or bad thing.

American Idol- Another show that I have watched every season. Some people write this show off but it's has changed and is still changing pop culture and today's music.

Above: Foul mouthed Susie Essman and Larry David in one of their many battles.

Curb Your Enthusiasm - I LOVE this show, the smartest comedy o n TV. Brilliant show. Susie deserves an Emmy award.

What shows are you watching?

The Red Sox are going to the World Series!!!

Never doubt the Red Sox.

Oh the ups and downs of being a Red Sox fan! Paul and I never gave up hope and we were in high spirits tonight as we headed out to watch game seven of the Cleveland/Red Sox game to decide which team would go to the World Series. Paul and I wore our Red Sox shirts that Kevin and Jon gave us, mine says "Dice - K" and Paul's says Matsuzaka. We were meting our friend Terry, who has been in London for several months, to watch the game. Of course the friendship was on the line because if the Sox lost, he would have forever been deemed a bad luck charm:-)

Above: Terry, Me and Paul at the Pilsner Inn celebrating!

This was an amazing game to watch. The Colorado series was very anti-climatic and pretty stale because they won their playoff series 4-0. The Sox Cleveland game was "a game," a true nail biter that had me sitting on the edge of the bar stool ripping up a paper coaster. As I was ripping up he coaster I realized that every time I played with the coaster good things were happening!

Above: There it is, the lucky coaster!

Good things DID happen. The Sox blew the game out in the bottom of the 8th. Paul made a great call when in the 9th inning they but Coco Crisp in centerfield, he said “It would be great if Coco made the game winning catch since he had not been playing the past few games…sure as shit…Coco did just that!

Above: This picture has nothing to do with tonight game, I was searching for Sox pictures and this came up. Papelbon is the furthest to the left (cross tattoo on back) in his underwear, NICE ASS!

Another page in red Sox history and it's pretty funny after Paul and I were thinking about how we met recently and it brought us back to when the Red Sox won the World Series right around the time we met. Very cool!:-) Paul is headed to Boston to watch game 6 and 7 IF it gets that far! AND while he is in Boston I can watch the games on our BRAND NEW high-def flat screen TV!!!!

Above: SWEET!

RED SOX NATION!!!
